Simple Apple Tarte Tatin

Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry
2 apples, cored, peeled and sliced thin
¼ cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter
¼ cup brown sugar
Egg wash (one beaten egg with a splash of water to thin)

Directions:

Preheat oven 350 degrees.

Roll out puff pastry into a square or round, folding the edges to make a 1/4” lip. Brush the entire face surface and edges with the egg wash. Fan apple slices 1 inch from the edge, covering the pastry entirely. Sprinkle the apples with brown sugar and pecans and dot evenly with butter. Top with cinnamon. Fold edges once more, creating a rim that surrounds the apples. Wash edges with egg wash and bake on a parchment lined baking sheet for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Garnish:

Drizzle NOBLE apple pie syrup on a dish with the tarte tatin and serve with whipping cream or ice cream.
